| Show Me Paranormal Investigation ~ Newburg Cemetery
This investigation was performed in the Newburg Cemetery, Newburg Missouri Case details: This was just another cemetery investigation. Cemeterys are always haunted it seems, understandably so, and we just wanted to check this cemetery out and see what we came out with in the nature of paranormal activity. Research of Location: At this time there is little historical information to be located online about this cemetery or some of it occupants of interest, but we will continue to research in hopes of solving some of the mysteries that came out of this location. The Revealing: This cemetery is active. On our first investigation we came out with a lot of orb photos, nothing spectacular, and we experienced some drastic temperature drops and spirit interaction with members of this nature. Our member Kamie, along with a guest, on a previous visit to the location were sitting and conversing on a bench within the cemetery. Upon laughing at a joke one of them told, they distinctly heard a male voice laughing as well. Because of this previous claim by the member and her friend, another member upon return to the cemetery placed a dvr on a headstone near the bench area and left it alone while joining other members further up in the cemetery. Upon playback of the dvr the next day, we found we had obtained an evp within minutes of the placing of that dvr, a male voice saying something that seems to be one word and of which we are not able to determine. We traversed the entire perimenter of the cemetery, and entered deeper into the center in some areas. We eventually returned to our starting point and decided to perform an evp session in the bench area, and at this time we did not know that we had already obtained an evp from that area from the dvr that was left upon a headstone earlier in the evening. We began the evp session with two dvr's on, one on either side of the perimeter of the rectangular grave area. We performed a dead time silence and question session for approximately fifteen minutes and all seemed quiet and still. We began talking then, Lorin turned off his dvr which is his practice to only run one during actual evp sessions, to cut down on analysing time, whereas Kristie tends to run hers throughout the entire investigation, turning on upon entry and it not being turned off until exit. One of the team members, Heather, decided that she needed to relieve herself, and we were teasing her some about this as she walked off in a distance towards the gravel road into the cemetery, directly in front of us to a right angle where a large tree was situated. Another team member, Kristie, seen her hesitate suddenly as she was almost near the tree area, and simulaniously team member Lorin states that his dvr has turned back on by itself, hearing the beep of it coming on. Kristie, who noticed Heathers hesitation inquired if she was okay, and Heather responded that she thought she heard someone whispering. The next day when we analysed the dvr recording from Kristies dvr that had remained on throughout the investigation, we heard all these events taking place in rapid succession, Kristie asking Heather is she is okay and her noting that she thinks she hears whispering, Lorin stating that his dvr just turned on by itself and it will not turn back off even when powered down. In the midst of all this interaction from the team members, immediately before the dvr turns on by itself and Heather states she heard someone whispering, you hear a whisper of "Help Me" and there is also a second more full bodied male voice off in the distance close to the area where the team member Heather had walked to; calling out, "Dont try to help me" and once the second male voice starts you will hear team member Heather state that she keeps hearing someone calling to her. This male voice droned on for a total of 50 seconds although it is hard to pick up clearly since team members are talking at the same time, the voice repeatedly cried out for us to not try to help. The team returned to this location two weeks later to see if they could gain anymore evps from this male entity and some wisdom as to who this male entity may be and why his crys for help. The team divided up this time, three members staying at the location of the bench with a Frank box device and video camera set up. Three other members went to the opposite side of the road directly across from the big tree where the previous investigation the team member audibly heard a voice calling out of which was picked up on the dvr. They placed another dvr on a entry stone to a family plot area hoping to catch a closer recording of the voice if it once again came from the area it had before. They then began circling the perimeter of the cemetery with another dvr. This method was orchestrated in hopes of the voice once again calling out and possibly a better determination of what section of the cemetery it was stemming from to narrow down possible male headstones for research. One of our sensitives had been drawn to one particular males grave and it turned out that the grave did line up directionally with the sounds of the previous evp recording, but it still remains undetermined as to the source of this male voice that was calling for us not to try to help him. The Evidence:
![]() Just some typical orb photos that came out of the cemetery
![]() The above are just some more orb photos at Newburg Cemetery that were taken as team two walked the perimeters ![]()
A sudden mist forms while team two is walking the perimeter, invisable to the naked eye but caught on camera, and in a second rapid succession shot is gone again and there is only an orb left in its place and another one to the right side edge of the photo.
One of our favorite grave sites where we stop and admire how much this husband loves his wife and keeps her headstone decorated so elaborately. We talk to Arlene while we linger here in admiration and humbleness, enphasizing to her how much her husband must adore and miss her, and one team member catches an orb resting right above the headstone and we like to think that is Arlene smiling with warm memories of her husband. We commend Jerry Walraven for how lovingly and tenderly he keeps his wifes gravesite, one feels a great sense of peace at this site that makes you just want to linger for awhile in respect and honor of what is obviously true love.
Team two now moves into the cemetery location where it seemed the male voice was coming from directionally. We have multiple of orbs in this area.
We have another mist formation that suddenly appears in camera and again within seconds is gone again with just a small orb left in its place.
The orb moves towards the grave of interest to one of our sensitives which is just a few feet away to the right from where the mist appeared and the orb originated.
Just an interesting epitah on the back side of the headstone.
![]() In walking several feet to the rear of the grave of interest, another mist formation is captured and again disppears within seconds in rapid photo succession, once again leaving a small orb which can be partially seen at the top edge of the second photo (hard to see but there).
![]() Upon team twos return to the starting point at the bench where team one remained, an orb is captured close to team member Lorin and then seconds later is gone again.
It seems the orb, or possibly another one, has moved to the opposite side of the road hovering near the second dvr placed on the entry post to a family plot, this close to the big tree which is directly across the road and where the member audibly heard the male voice calling. This photo was shot immediately after the two photos above and the disappearance of the orb by team member Lorin.
![]() ![]() The apparition in the photos above was captured by one of our team members, Heather, on the very first investigation of the cemetery. During our last investigation, a psychic that came along with the team and knew nothing of this photo or experience, stated that there was a male child, accompanied by his mother, running about the cemetery. Perhaps this is the apparition of that child. Below are the evps captured during this investigation. To listen to the evp as a wav file, just click on the sound wave image. A new page will load with a audio player. The audio will automatically start, to re-listen just use the audio player controls. When finished listening, hit your browser 'back' button to return to this investigation page. If you have trouble with the wave image player, Vista users may have problems, then there is a second player Mp3 play button that you can use right below the first. Just click on the little arrow play button and a slide out player appears, hit the play button and when done you can collapse the player again by hitting the arrow on the right end of the player. If you have trouble with the player sliding out, refresh the page and click on one evp button and play the evps from the play list on the player (this way it is best to use wave image if able). We recommend that you read the captions below each evp recording so you are familar with the particular setting of each evp and what you can expect to hear on the recording. Evps can sometimes be difficult to hear if you do not know what you are looking for. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Newburg Evp #1 The above evp was the one captured while the dvr rested on a headstone near the bench area while team members walked off further up in the cemetery.
Newburg Evp #2 A more isolated clip of the evp above.
Newburg Evp #3 This is the full unedited version of the evps captured when we ended the dead time at the bench, and suddenly one dvr was turned on of its own accord, the team member heard the voice whispering and the second dvr picked up the whisper and another male voice in the distance calling for us not to help.
Newburg Evp #4 This is an isolated clip from the above evp of the whispered "Help me", slowed down for better clarity
Newburg Evp #5 This is another isolated clip of the other male voice calling in the distance, "Dont try to help me".
Newburg Evp #6 The isolated clip from above slowed for better clarity. We could have attempted to pull more of the second male voice calling out into isolated clips, but unfortunitely with all the team member interaction going on at the same time this voice was calling out, it seemed pointless. Since it was a repeating of the same sentence over and over, we felt the first sentence was the clearest and enough for our visitors to be able to listen to the full clip and pick up on how it droned on for many seconds repeatively. We feel paranormal activity in this cemetery has been validated, and we hope these restless male spirits, the one requesting help and the one crying out for us not to help him, will find peace in the afterlife. We will continue to revisit Newburg Cemetery on occasion to see if these spirits are still crying out and attempt to gain wisdom in how they can be assisted to find that peace in death. We may hopefully have more evps to exhibit from this location soon, as we still have two more recordings to analyse.
